One caller with a problem was a very middle class, polite and intelligent sounding woman who kept insisting that she had done as I asked her and switched off the power to the satellite box, even though when I asked her what colour light was on the front of the box, she told me there was a red light. On pointing out that a red light on the box meant there was power getting to it, she argued with me, for about 12 minutes, that she had definitely switched it off and there was absolutely no electricity going to the box. I asked her how can there be a light on the box then? She couldn't answer but still insisted she was right. I requested her to check again, and again, and again, until eventually she acknowledge there was one plug still in the socket. And it was a eureka moment for her too when she finally looked at the front of the box and could tell me there were no lights on it.

Stupidity affects us all at times, but some people and sometimes unlikely people, do carry it to extremes.

I'm glad I've stumble across this entertaining blog and will come back to read some more.Mabelnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21067230.post-7429329187814841412009-02-06T23:44:00.000-08:002009-02-06T23:44:00.000-08:00double dang it...i just woke the baby again! we a...double dang it...i just woke the baby again! we are going to bed now, but i will be back when i can laugh out loud and have my children think that i am a maniac.

i don't think that i have ever commented on a commenter before, but somebody seems to be wearing his grouchypants a size too small.cathy gauberthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03026251619075210533noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21067230.post-62812723818280932742008-10-27T20:30:00.000-07:002008-10-27T20:30:00.000-07:00So, an anonymous person commented "I agree with Ri...So, an anonymous person commented "I agree with Richard." I removed that comment because a. I don't care for anonymous comments, and b. I especially don't care for anonymous comments that say they agree with a commenter who has insulted me in number of ways, attacking my person rather than my content.

I see blogs that have no comments feature. Maybe what keeps me from posting more is the idea of negative comments: I'm just not strong enough to take it. Maybe I would be better off with a blog with no comments. Maybe I just shouldn't have a blog, and should delete this one.

Maybe I should go to bed and pretend this day didn't happen. And be thankful the Mormons haven't found my previous post.Blaizehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07033894901666324351noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21067230.post-31858210056654047552008-10-27T19:38:00.000-07:002008-10-27T19:38:00.000-07:00This comment has been removed by a blog administrator.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21067230.post-83952898104946686032008-10-27T05:00:00.000-07:002008-10-27T05:00:00.000-07:00This person sounds very much as if he has Asperger...This person sounds very much as if he has Aspergers syndrome or similar. Such people are not stupid.

To talk like this about mentally ill or troubled people seem to show a lack of feeling for people on your part.

Many people have difficulty with communication of this kind. If you get upset by such a customer - maybe you should just resign from your job - in retail (and I have had to deal with difficult customers myself in retail) your job is to attend to to all customers with respect and its no good being in retail if you don't like people.

[Unless you encounter people who are just obnoxious and or deliberately unpleasant]

I notice a lot of females are agreeing with you - it seems to me it is because he is a man and "stupid" that you have all this venom and sarcasm - hate even of men?

The problem seems to me to be yours - your lack of concern and compassion - not that of the 'worried man'.

But that is how I see it.Richardhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10272507198753290435noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21067230.post-11260342246193800602008-10-12T19:18:00.000-07:002008-10-12T19:18:00.000-07:00"Perhaps... you could learn to like gophers more t..."Perhaps... you could learn to like gophers more than birds?
